Last year i had to replace my ecm when my truck started cutting in and out and then went to defuel mode... pretty much cost me a 1,000 at the local dealership and they hacked up my wiring harness trying to "diagnose" my ecm to make sure that was the problem.. now my wiring harness is all cut up and seriously has like 3 but splices in it.. But here lately my truck has started to blow a big puff of white smoke when i start it and drive it a little bit.. after i drive it down my driveway and shut it off and start it back up it is black as usual. I noticed the other night that it cut in and out a couple times.. I immediatly thought it was the ecm again.. But last night i was welding on the weight bracket im making for the truck so i had the batteries unhooked. and i went to leave the shop hooked up the batteries and hit the key and let it crank its usual length and the truck wouldnt start so i hit the key again and held it and it seemed like it cranked for like 4 seconds longer than usual. I dont know what the heck to think now.. vp44 or ecm? what do you all think?? Oh and i was looking at that wiring harness again when i was puttin on batt. cables and there is a wire that is cut and exposed like it pulled loose from another splice but i couldnt find the other end. Oh and it is tripping up a p0237 boost sensor code. It also tripped that code last time because i remember buying and replacing that sensor thinking that was the reason. So if you all could give me your oppinion it would be appreciated!

white smoke normally means timing.....my guess it's the VP gone for a crap
