Vp44 problem??

I have a 2001 ho truck i have 150hp injectors and a edge comp.. when i am hauling a heavy load pulling hills the truck will cut out under medium to heavy throttle to hold my speed up the hill.. if i just keep a steady throttle and dont get into it at all no cut out.. could this be the vp44 or what else could cause this?? it never does this unless it is under a decent load the truck runs great other than this.. the vp44 was replaced about 60,000 miles ago and has had a airdog on it since..
 
Really that would cause a cut out under heavy load... cause i can run it hard any other time and no problems... it dont throw any codes...
 
Replaced, got mine from Oriallys for $425 iirc.
