Looks like I finally toasted it. When got in to go to work today it started up, ran for about 5 seconds, than died and won't start or even try. It acts like its been goin out because the truck has been starting a little harder lately, also the strange cackling sound out the exhaust. Once it cools down outside I'm gonna crack a few lines and make sure I didn't just lose fuel prime, but I doubt it. That explains why its been so low on power lately too. Anything else to try before I deem it dead?

On a side note I know of a HO pump off of an 02'. I have heard bad things about the HO pumps tho. So would it even work and if so should I go for it? Thanks
 
You can throw a HO pump on an SO pump with no extra steps. It fits and works the same but the SO pump will yeild more power. What ever you do...make sure you have good f.p. I see you have FASS now. Thats good. Did your f.p gauge problems ever go away?
 
Yup, it wasn't the guage, it was the lift pump being sparatic, then making no pressure(and taking major life off the VP before I got the Fass) Thinking about buying a II HRVP in the for sale section. Any experience with these?
 
Whats wrong with the HRVP? Why not get one if I can get one for cheap? Otherwise where is the best place to get an SO pump?
 
I have a IIHRVP. The good thing about getting a HRVP is they use all new parts. Most rebuilt pumps have any reuseable parts reused in them. And most injection shops just use what they can if its still good. From what i gather II uses all new parts and all the new updates for the pump on their HRVP
 
II & BlueChip VP44

I don't think that they are using brand new head&rotors-hydro head inthere pumps.
If every thing about these pump are new then why is there a core?

Midwest supplied my pump and told me the only thing they reuse is the rotor head. All other parts are new. I will go back with them if I ever need to.
 
IT IS ALIVE!!! I did some bleeding and it turns out this thing is still tickin. I am still lookin for a new one tho as I think its on its 9th life
 
Got a used one on its way. Anything I need to know before swapping them? It s off another 99'.
