I was having a good bit of Dead pedal on my old VP and it finally gave up a little over a week ago. I was talking to Robert Donaldson, Crew Chief for Stuckey Racing and Pump Guru @ Shiver Diesel about VP44 options, and He suggested that I get one of his Upgraded VP44's. being one of those secretive drag-racer types, Robert wasn't very forthcoming about what he planned on doing to the pump, other than some of his quite infamous vague descriptions and mumblings about a Chunchit Valve, but I went ahead and ordered one up because he is a friend of mine, and If he can tune the Green Truck to run like it does, getting my pig to haul a little bit of ass should be pretty simple.

Anyway, the pump arrived on time and I slapped it on Friday. This thing idles better than the original pump did with stock injectors, and there is absolutely no studder when I romp on it. The truck is running like a raped ape now. Before I usually ran around with my MVP on all the time and used the Bluechip FMS here and there, but now, I don't really have to run electronics at all during my commute. I am super impressed with the pump thus far. so, if you are in the market and want another option, give Robert a call down at Shiver Diesel 850-575-9632 and chat him up. He is an excellent fella to deal with and is quite entertaining from time to time.

Hey tim. I don't have to run with my electronics on anymore either. LOL

LOL

No doubt.... Like I told you last week though, I have a few things that are keeping me from a p-pump right now. I'll have one soon enough, I'm even gonna get rid of 12 needless valves when I do.

I see the problem- you mean the Chunk It valve, as in chunk the VP44 in the trash.:hehe::hehe:

Do one need oversized lines and COtubes with this pump? Min size injectors?

Sorry to bug you on the old thread, but I live really close to Shiver diesel and I am also in need of a new vp44. How is the pump holding up? Also do you know if the pumps are rebuilt with new electronics? Are thier prices competitive with other rebuilders? I apologize for all the questions, and appreciate your time.

I remember when i put my hot rod pump on how wonderful it was compared to stock. Now i just cant wait to get it back.....

Sorry.... I have been out of town and just saw this.
New electronics, competitive pricing, Holding up great! Call Robert and tell him I told you to call.

will they warranty it for a year with a wire tap like Rip does?

I honestly never asked... I solder the wires before I ever put my pumps on, and I have never had one from anyone take a poop in less than 15 months.

the redline really put a hurtin' on my pump. used to be able to get 55lbs out of it with the drag comp. Run the Redline for a while (testing) then hooked the DC back up and it lost 10 lbs.
