ok guys i just got reid of my smarty and i havent got my comp box back yet form getting it made to a drag comp.. the only thing i hate about the comp is that it dont just through the fuel to it when ever like the smarty. i was just wondering what i could stack with the drag comp that would just blow smoke when ever i just rev. it up. and when ever i laid in to itcause my comp hesates to much.. i no its not good to smoke but oh well iv been around diesels all my life and im going to kepp blowin smoke as long as i live!!!!:st:

I have the comp box. I don't really like it to tell you the truth. I've had it for a while. Last time I used it, it wasn't getting the voltage signal from the MAP to the ECM. Threw it into limp mode everytime I pressed a button! lol.

The thing I don't like is that it seems to be all top end. You don't get much low end out of it. The upgrade on it, or the drag tune that replaces (Level 5 right?) I know just adds a little more low end fueling. Atleast that's what me and the Edge guy discussed.

I know alot of buddy's of mine run Quadzilla over Smarty any day in the 2nd gens. Mot common rail people I talk to prefer the Smarty.

Just a thought :cyclops:

Yes. lol, I know this. I did once I figured out why it was in limp. Still didn't come out of limp till I got the code cleared though.

Yeah if you unplug the map sensor/boost sensor in the manifold, the truck will think it has 14.7 psi at idle, just a tap on the throttle and you'll see a cloud

the early superchips add no timing and give a little better low end but nowhere near what the smarty does.

Smoke switch will give you smoke at free-rev... That's the only reason why I made/have one...

Can the smoke, don't you people get it? All the stupid smoking is the nails in the diesel performance coffin!

I've been around diesels my whole life too, and I keep mine as clean as possible.

The Smarty fuels so hard down low because it tinkers with the APPS signal, makes 1/4 throttle look like 1/2 and so forth. The drag comp will fuel down low, and do so like a mother humper, but it is waiting for the boost to come in before it really pours the coal to it. What do you have the preboost fuel level set at on the comp?? That determines just how hard it fuels before boost.

I6chick, the drag comp basically fuels out past 2700RPM, but only in levels 4&5.

how do i set the pre boost fuel level?

yo brotha. i think they're talking about about the low boost fueling levels. hold the power button down for a few seconds then release it and the lights will start flashing. thats the low boost fueling level. set it then hit the power button again to turn it off, then one more time to turn it back on.

Anyone wanna trade a drag comp for a quadzilla...??? :D lol
