I have a cam that I buy last year and have had a change to put it in. I am thinking of have a guy put it in till he came out of no where with that it might be warp because I didnt store the thing correctly. Is he full of sh!t or is there a chance of it being warp. One other this is there any one in nothern california that you would recomend to install it for me at a reasonable cost.

How did you have it during storage? The correct way from my understanding is for it to stand straight up on end, but I don't see how it laying down on its side could allow for warp? The cam journals are only like 6" apart...

FWIW I had a cam in my garage for almost two years before I installed it and it has been fine in the truck for the last few months...

i bet you that 100 percent of cams are stored on shelves in a warehouse laying down for months it not years! i think the guy is full of sh!t

Thank you I thought too, I just wasnt sure I wanted a second opinion. As far how I store my was sometime on its side and sometimes on the end, still in the box that it was ship in. :bang

Roll it on a flat surface, if its warped you should see it. If its not put that sucker in.

You should hang them by the snout just like a crankshaft. This is the actual way to do it but i say roll it and put it in and enjoy. Tim

Yep, best way to store them is to hang them. Standing it up on end works, though. But the above posters are right. Check it. If it's good, stuff it in!
