I mean look at the 2.8 class it almost seemed as if over half of them either broke a rear-end or ate a u-joint. it was hooking hard and looked as if the 2.8 side had some big dips and humps in it. around the 290-3XX mark seemed to have the worst spot for it.....

The 2.8 trucks have reached a thresh hold on the power that the "OEM" driveline can handle, IMO. There are a lot of 2.8 pullers pushing for an open driveline rule.

yes there was. luckily we werent one of them for once.

I didnt know what would happen with the 35's on it for the final. we needed somthing to get past troy (that truck is truly wicked:rockwoot:) so it was gonna be go or blow.

also thanks to the mosleys for letting us borrow their tires for the finals it really helped get the truck hooked up.

I noticed a lot of the 2.8 trucks were having misfire issues.
What was that about?

The 2.6 side had their fair share of carnage too.

Yeah we were on the 2.6 track and broke a U-joint and ended up 34th, so we were pretty happy with that, being that was first time down the track on pretty much a newly built truck. I guess stock drive shafts and u-joints don't work.

Anyway on that note, what is everybody doing with there rear drive shafts, the truck is a long box extended cab. I see a lot of one piece drvie shafts but what are all running for u-joints?

Thanks,

Dustin

I broke a rear axel shaft in the final and the guy that pulls with me here local broke a rear shaft, front shaft, front hub and front locker on his final run.

I hit that stupid dip at the 300' in teh finals and almost hit the steering wheel. It totally killed my momnetum. After I ran almost all of them ran as high as they could right down the line.

that seemed to be where everybody was breakin. Beaner you sure had the hooker moving down that track for the final, your deff. getting her dialed in..untill 300' where most of them where loosing it.

Them were a couple of good guys.. We were the ones parked right next to them. That hub locker was toast.... He got that thing fixed quick!

If I get some more rpm it would help me out. I just run right up 4k goin down the track maxed out. All the other guys run 4500-5500 down the track wich greatly increases track speed. My gear is about 34mph and I would bet that the dmax guys are around 40mph.

On the 2.6 side I avadenty came with a broken front locker then blew the front driveshaft out approx half track. I did still manage to pull 272 ft in 2 wheel drive though.
