Wastegate Business

i have the wastegate thing all figured out as far as how to run one and install everything, but what i am still struggling with is how to pick the right one. i keep lookin on some sites at a few dif gates and the spring pressures are all low. (max 24 something psi) does this mean it opens at 24 psi or is it tied to a higher number. more or less, i am lookin for a gate to set right around 45psi but i must be missin somethin. which spring do i need. thanks for the help.

Looking at external wastgates I assume? You can double stack the springs to get the opening pressure you want. Just figure out what color springs you need and order them with the gate or get a mix and play around to fine tune.

well also remember you can use boost or drive pressure to keep it closed also. Figure the area of the gate, area of the piston minus the rod area, times the pressure to each. Those are the forces pushing it open. Then take the area on top of the piston x pressure + the spring pressure that is what keeps it closed.
