Wastegate sizing

Just curious of how to pick a proper external wastegate for a large single(gt42,s475,3b,etc) in a racing application. Was looking at a few turbo smarts. Was planning on a 60mm then thought a little more about it. A huge wastegate would be nice for bypassing a secondary but on a single application it might loose too much boost when opening and cause irratic boost numbers. Maybe a ~45mm would be better suited? Apologize in advance for my ignorance.

The only reason not to go with a bigger gate is cost and room, I have never experienced erratic boost, even with two 60mm gates.

I run a 47mm precision gate on my gt4294 and have no issue controlling boost.
