water outlet gasket

seems like my water outlet gasket is too big...its donut style gasket, necked down. Seems to stick out too far not allowing me to mount the water outlet to the block.

i havent had a 24v thermostat housing off before but if its like the 12v the rubber gasket will stick out a little bit til you clamp down on the housing. thats how it seals the thermostat. make sure it cant go in backwards or anything and that the thermostat is in correct.

thanks for the help....but im talking on the outlet side, where the lower rad. hose is.

It is the same as a 12v. There's no diference they are the same.

Thats the inlet side, and i believe it the same. Been a while since i had one off. If its too thick to start the bolts or to be able to tighten the bolts down to spec, you could shave a little off of it til you can get it torqued down.
