Just wanted to share with everyone on here what we found on a recent teardown of a customers engine this past week. The first three pictures are of the cam gear, as you can see there is obvious wear on the gear which is caused by the factory water pump, you can actually see if you look close at the gears where the water pump has actually jumped a tooth or two. This is why we highly recommend the use of an electric water pump on high RPM application engine builds and that's all we will use. The next picture is of one of our EDP/Ross piston's after a full season of abuse on the pulling track, the engine has around 30 hooks on it. On your average set of coated pistons most of the material would be gone, but here you can clearly see the coating material is still present. This goes to show that embeding the coating material during the forging process is a much more durable route to go for piston life longevity.
