Can I use the plug Between the manifold and oil pan for a water temp gauge? It is on the block on the drivers side of the motor.

ok, so i got the adapter AUT 2268 1/8" npt to M16x1.5 for the block install. Now the fitting on the water gauge doesnt fit it. The gauge has a 1/2 fitting that goes around the probe. So what do I need now? A 1/2f x 1/8m reducer?
Im not good with these fittings at all.:bang
