Weird feeling in 4wd

When I am in 4wd hi and doin about 40-50mph, just holding that speed, I get this shutter type of feeling. Almost like I have the converter locked up while trying to come to a complete stop. As soon as I switch to 2wd it goes away.

Any ideas?

bad front u joint? did you check the stub shaft joints?

I am goin to a buddies shop hopefully tomorrow and get her on a lift and check fluid levels in front diff and transfer case, and also check play with all u joints.

what/where is the stub shaft joints and how do you check them?

they are the u joint right between the ball joints

just give them a good tugging back and forth

front driveshaft could always have a bad joint too

Sounds like vibration coming from the front driveshaft.

On a 3rd gen, I would put money on stub shaft joints or the CV joint.
