Weird idle

My 96 12v has been idleing all over the place lately. When it is cold and when it is warm. One second it will be about to shut of below 200rpm the next it will be around 1000rpm. This is in park and in gear. Sometimes when its just idleing weather in or out of gear and when warm it just shuts off. What is the problem? Thanks

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Is it hard to start after sitting all night? You need to check fuel pressure, leaking heater, overflow valve, etc.
