Welded flange

Im wondering it my hx55 is going to be too heavy to use a welded flange on my manifold. I want to run a industrial manifold and using a bolt on flange puts the turbo 2 far down. I was gonna mill half the stock flange off. and then weld a 1/2" flange on tot he manifold. I just dont know if its going to be sturdy enough to keep my turbo on.

I think it should be just fine as long as the weld job is good
