I am rebuilding a '95 12 valve and tonight we took the crank and all the pistons out, turns out on cylinder #1 right were the crank sits, right by the front cover, about half inch to an inch a piece of the block is broke, I know people can weld blocks but I was wondering if you can weld that spot

you can get a 12v block cheap now. i wouldnt spend all kinds of money rebuilding it then later have problems. it would always be in the back of your mind every time you heard a strange noise.

It's cheaper to find a good ready-to-run block for $500. Plus, you don't risk the rotating assembly being tweaked.

Ive got a 24Valve that has a cracked 53 block that i will sell you and comes with a good 55 block:poke:
