Well my 70 finally gave up...

Pulled in a local "brush pull" Friday night... They had a good set of rules it looked like but since there was virtually no tech they pretty much just put everyone in one Diesel truck class and if you made weight and hitch hieght you where in...

GF got so excited she basically dropped the camera so can't see where I broke... Pulled it 341.5 ft... Second place was 302ft... Dozen or so trucks, several Dmaxes, a few cummins, and a couple Fords. The one Dmax I was worried about with ATS trans, EFI Live, and I heard diff injectors... He forgot to spend the $150 or whatever they cost on tie rod sleeves, and had his torsion bars cranked up to clear his 20" wheels... busted tie rods at 150'...

So now I gotta find a D80... Would like one with rear disc brakes, since my 70 has them now... how hard are they to find???

They can be found, but unfortunately people with disc break D80's know what they have price them accordingly.

Those 70's just werent meant for pulling. I never busted one pulling, but i have killed 2 daily driving. I have a Dana 80 now. Hopefully it will hold up a while.

Is there any way to take the disc's off my 70 and put them on an 80???
