I am going to put a aftermarket shifter on, what is everyone using? I have a 48re if that makes any difference.

Thanks

Pistol grip qtr stick all the way!! Got one in the Cuda, working on a "custom" one for the truck now.

Hey Z, was there any trick things when you first setup that shifter? Or was it a direct bolt in?

I had to extend the cable mounting bracket, there is a cooler line in the way of the provided one. Literally weld a flat piece of stock on the provided bracket and drill two holes. I put mine in with the tranny in, might have been easier if the tranny was removed.

Pretty easy install.

i did a lokar trans mount for my manual to auto conversion. i love it. people ask me where the clutch pedal is cuz it still looks like a manual shift lever:rockwoot:

For those who have the megashifter, when you is the lever only for reverse lock out or can you pull it all the way down to 1st?

Here is another question,, how easy it is to pull the factory gearshift lever off? Any tricks to this?

I went with a TCI myself. The column shift is real easy to take off. It has a pin at it's base that needs to be knocked out and you're done. I was able to use the button on the shifter for my tow/haul and od switch

I have a Hurst V-matic 2 shifter and I hate it. I wish I would have got the quarter stick instead. :(

the shifter is easy to remove. like he said a pin to tap out.and the od switch can be pulled out.i may have cut the wires? it comes as 2 pcs.i just mounted a momentary switch to my b&m shifter for the od. you can slide the plastic cover so it looks clean.

I got a Light-Truck Mega-Shifter; I don't know of anything else that comes with a pedestal to mount on a floorboard. I know it's a cheap one, but it has never missed a shift and I trust it. I just need a new shift knob.

Modification of the brackets included with the MegaShifter.

I forgot about the OD, is that just a momentary on, momentary off situation?

I have the b&m shifter, my trans is fully manual and I just wired a switch into the orerdrive circuit snice my 05 didn't have a overdrive off switch. works really good I had the setup in for 4 years now and I only broke one shift cable, I have a place locally make a more heavy duty cable cheaper than what b&m wanted for theres
