what are the free mods with a 02 24v??

im not want ing to put a box or programmer on the truck and I already have 5 in. exhaust and a K&N drop in. Silencer ring is gone too. anything else anyone has an idea or a tip/trick??? thanks guys!!1
 
a bucket of soap and water... you can make it shiny for free. Everything on these trucks comes with a price:)

When mine was stock I wired my wastegate shut and got an extra 5psi of boost, but other then that I can't really think of mods that don't cost money.
 
You could juice grip the wastegate like LAmiller mentioned.

You can put a pill bottle on the end of your breather tube to help stop spreading oil all over the front of the engine. For a couple extra bucks, you can also extend the breather out away and keep oil off the front axle.

You can check the valves for free. Cummins says you don't need to do this until about 100,000 miles.. But sometimes you can quiet the top end down a little bit by adjusting the valves a little tighter.

There are also cheap things you can do to improve the truck.. For example, you can build a bypass oil filter system for under $100.

Just as said before.. Most of the fun comes with a cost. :)
 
Its not free, but I have an Edge COmp for an 02 I'll sell ya fror $325 shipped...about as cheap as they come. LOL
 
1) Remove the rubber boot from the air box
2) Wedge a piece of metal in the hole you took the boot out of to force the air from the wheel well towards the box
3) Remove the air line from the turbo and insert a 1/8 pipe plug. Just keep it under 35 lbs and you'll be fine.
4) Air up your tires
5) Borrow a smarty for ecm updates such as the cold weather high idle
 
Other than turbo whine? what are the benefits of removing the silencer ring?

I noticed on mine after I took the silencer ring out, I didn't get near the turbo bark that I did before. Almost every time I let off the throttle it would bark the turbo.....now I have to actually try to make it do it! Which is almost impossible now.
