I am looking to upgrade my turbo, again lol. I am having my injectors redone to be like a set of 370's at a local injection shop and know that i need a better turbo. I dont want to stick them in till i have somethin better than the HX35. This truck is goin to be a sled puller and the ocasional street cruiser. I want somethin that would allow HP growth over time. With the current mods listed below what do you think the direction would be to go in? Thanks fellas!

I don't know how well it would spool that charger...

Are you still running the 12mm H/R? I'd go with a 62/71/14. JAyers made 501rwhp with a 62/71 and 14mm H/R, they will support the hp a 1st gen will put out.

I have a II SPS 66 Turbo with the VE pump and custom 6x16 inj and this turbo is a little big for it. I can spool it and do pretty good it but it is tough. 370 inj won't be enough for a 66. It doesn't build boost till 2,300 rpm. About the time it builds boost you are almost out of the VE's power range. Go with a 62 or 64 turbo. I bought my 66 turbo thinking i was going to change to P-pump that next year but funds are tight so sticking with the VE pump for now.

Id go for a 62/71/14 if i were you. Should run great for the fuel you will have.

get a set of Coaltrain 6x16's......RSWORDS is running a 66 on his truck with their 6x16's.......

Call Engineered Diesel. I have heard they have some great prices and they do good work.

RS has an automatic i believe and with the 5 speed you need a good Double Disc Clutch to get the 66 spooled. The VE just has a hard time spooling a 66 and staying on top of it. Here is a video with 6x16 JL Machine inj. and the II 66 Turbo in 8,500lb and 7,500lb class The turbo was surging at the end of 8,500 pull. Not saying you can't do it cause I am doing it but i wish i would have gone smaller and then sold it for a bigger turbo when I P pump the truck.
