What if...............

I hope it happens and hope rules are figured out where it will allow for TONS of trucks from multiple classes to show. But you have to have devil's advocates in this in order to get the best set of rules to allow for the best racing.
I will say I have a hard time discussing anything with you due to your profile pic. Makes me think you might just want a race where everyone gets a participation trophy and there are no entry fee's...

Lmao there's a story behind that and it wasn't my choosing as I wasn't playing very nice with Fleece in a thread and poking fun at their slap sticker marketing hard parts..... I just kept it there as a momento! Plus as bat $hit crazy he is, at least he sticks to his convictions.... thankful the DNC painted him red though as I regretfully think he would be beat Trump if he carried his momentum.

Funny you use the phrase about being a devil's advocate as I responded to a question above with that exact same mindset when you replied!

AAAAHhhhhhhahahahaha:hehe:

Devils advocate my dear sir! Being a follower isn't in my genes!

All I'm saying it saves hard parts ok that's cool..... but then again put up or shut up if you came to win a purse of 25k!

This is why I have a respect for pullers and their mindset of stomp it in and let it eat!

Letting people go all out for the purse will mean Lavon or Dustin will win, out of a 3 or maybe 4 truck field.

You're suggesting a $25k payout for Pro Street...

Equal air out of an affordable turbo, put it to the ground, and cut a light.

Fun for racers, affordable, easier on parts, fun to watch.

so....

1/8 mile
5500 lb min
no tire limit
box s476
water only
$500 buy in (if you're a socialist, someone with a job has to pay your buy in)

(my attempt to get some resolution and rules drafting going)

Oh, so you're going to basically repeat what others have said to start a discussion? In the same discussion no less.

This. Extremely boring watching people make hero passes. Side by side racing is much more fun. For racers as well as spectors.

No kidding. If we had 25 diesels capable of running low, low 8s in the 1/4, sure, make it balls out.

But look at the drag racing at UCC. Look at PS.

How many current 476 time slips are out now?

I know of 1 low 10/6.5xx, but it's a T6 96mm turbine.

no, i just took what I liked out of the rest of the discussion and put it in one post. this hypothetical race by these hypothetical rules is happening in my head right now. it's a pretty good time. cheers.

I would like to have the turbo well before the event for testing. $1k buy-in is pushing it for me personally as well, you are looking at 3-$4k to make the race by the time you figure in travel, the spec charger, and buy-in. I would be more interested in more competitors than a $20k+ purse.

Can yall add a poll to this thread with the different options?

For Example:

A: 5500lbs 3.0 charger no nitrous $500 buy-in

B: 5500lbs 2.6 charger water only $1000 buy-in
The entry fee doesn't matter unless there aren't enough spectator ticket sales to cover the track event which was the case last time.

My thinking was that most everyone needs to buy a turbo for the event anyway.

Maybe make the turbo fee due 45 days before the event and then the entry fee due 10 days pre-event?

That race becomes very expensive if you do that, I think with a box turbo rule you could get a lot of SS truck, pro street trucks, 10.50/6.70 trucks ect. I want to see a 20+ truck field where you actually have to go more then one round for a win.

the 5500lb minimum knocks out all your pro street trucks. I know i wouldn't weigh our truck up 700lbs. I have no safe way of doing that IMO.

I think this would be a good race to do the day or two before an ODSS race if you're looking for a crowd/big event, I would have no problem weighting our truck up to 5500lbs and limiting the turbo to say a box 475/96 will limit your fuel only power to 1200hp +-. You should be able to run 6.0-6.30 1/8th mile times with 1200hp @ 5500lbs depending on 60' times and go rounds, I would bet you could make 50 passes on a transmission at that level. So it wouldn't be hard to remove ballasts and bolt triples back on for Pro Street the following day. I could see a large attendance for an event like that.

Lavon

:what:

It will suck not to have nitrous in a 6.0 but I'm down to race with whatever rules as long as it ain't some pricey turbo. This would be a great race I think.

So rules would be...

5500lbs
Box turbo TBD
Radials? or 2wd slicks?
Water injection allowed if filled in teach area and sealed

My thoughts exactly, lol

.

I'll work on a potential rule summary in the morning and we'll work it from there.
