I put a post up about 3-4 weeks ago about a crankshaft position sensor in my 1999 24v cummins. I have changed the fuel filter, swapped injection pump, checked all the wiring going to the main harness and still nothing. Truck has no tac and no power but when i plug it into the scan tool it has a RPM reading and 100% TPS reading and the APPS are fine. I have not checked fuel pressure and i have a fass DDRP lift pump ( witch i herd are not the best) What else could it be. Bad ECM maybe?

Thanks a lot guys

Could be a bad cluster. Push the odometer button and hold it while you turn the key on. You can let go of the button after a second or so. The cluster will go through a self-check and then spit out any codes that show up at the end. Write them down and report back.

ok that does not work on my truck.. i trying turning the 3 three times and the odometer thing.... any think eles... also might thought i should add this. I got a new motor (well used but new to me) the computer it came with we couldn't get it started... we put my computer on and it started..... On the old motor everything worked fine and then it goes on the new motor and RPM doesn't work

99 to a 99. idk its weird cause nothing was wrong with the computer on the old motor. then i put it on this one and it ****s the pit. now i did get a autozone crankshaft sensor... coulda have been a bad one? idk just want to try anything before having to spend another grand or so for new computer

did you make sure all your computer connections were tight, clean and moisture free? did you use a dielectric grease in any of your connectors? pull your harness apart one at a time, clean and check, make sure your bolted together connections at the fuse box is tight, and all other connections are tight and dry.if you used grease get som electrical parts cleaner and clean it all... try again.

They are higher that something got in there when you put it all together, its free to check.
Also did you unplug fuse box in dash too or no? A bolt runs into the back of it bolting your engine harness to cab harness... Or a wire got crushed and cut somewhere.. In the loom

ya i no it going to be something really stupid.. just have no pin pointed it yet... thanks for the ideas ill get back to u after i try some of these things. so when i do the dielectric grease should i put it on the injection pump harness to. or just the main wire hanesses

Nono,, no grease. Make sure there is no grease or anything in connectors

On the finer electronics between engine components it wil conduct voltage between pins, throwing things off and possibly ruining sensors and ecm
