what transfercase

i have a couple transfercases in the garage i was goin to sell but unless theyd work on the pullin truck

new venture gear model 241 dh is what the tag says on the 99 case

new process gear 241 dld is what it says on the 96


would these of those be a good choice for a 2.6 puller or would it be best to sell and find another?

i would have to make it fit a 5 speed if i did keep one.

I assume the first is 241dhd. It will be the better of the two. You will need to change the input shaft on one of them to a 29 spline input if they are off of automatic transmissions (23 spline).
 
DHD's are stronger than DLD's. DHD's behind autos have different inputs spline count than those behind manuals. I don't remember the count though.
 
ok so when i bought the stuff to swap my truck to a 5 speed.. i got the transfercase to for free cuz the yoke was missing and he figured it was full of dirt and trash... so can i just swap the input shafts? or do i need to buy a differant one
 
Swap the input shaft. I would check out the case if you and the seller were unsure of its condition.

If you search there is plenty of information out there about this swap.
 
ya i was plannin on tearing the 5 speed case apart and seein whats all in there and rebuild if needed or could.... but if i can just swap its shaft into the good dhd case i have i'll just do that...
