I've received several cores in this condition, I can honestly say I do not recommend it's use. I'm sure you can tell which one was used with #2 diesel, and which with WVO.

Is this the homemade biodiesel made from WVO, or the guys who run the straight veggie oil conversion kits where it heats the oil and burns the oil itself?

That looks a lot like something I'd pull out from inside a deep-fat frier's burner section.

i know someone that ran it in a powerstroke with no problems (over a year). another ran it in a VP dodge and his oil turned into pudding(3 months). you could pick it upside down with a spoon and it would not drip.

its sounds cool but one wiff of a greese dumpster and i would rather work a second job and pay for fuel over free oil.

I have a friend that ran it in his 24V for probably 100K with no issues. You need to keep an eye on the engine oil if your gonna do it.

If done correctly its perfectly fine...its the rednecks and idiots that give it a bad rep. I could send you a set of 370's right now that look brand new and have ran wvo for quite a few years now.$.02

I agree,I have heard the same thing. I got to look inside an A pump that had been run for well over 50,000 miles on WVO with a homemade setup and it looked great.

The guy that made the setup was very anal about his setup and maintenance though, I am convinced that had alot to do with it. The average idiot( 98% of people)doesnt do that.

Can you get that kind of gunk if you're filtering the WVO through a 5 or 2 micron filter?

That looks like they ran straight WVO without a heater or filtering it well. Personally I wouldn't run WVO without treating it with lye and alcohol then giving it a water bath. That way all the fats are removed... thats what I am sure is caked on that spring is residual fats. Properly treated WVO should look like #2 and be ALMOST as thin as #2 at room temp. If not its needs work IMO

I used make and sell biodiesel, there are other things you can be doing that are better for you truck. I was getting WAY too much blow by with biodiesel, not mention the power and mileage drop. It DOES work awesome in smaller concentrations for boosting mileage and making your engine run smoother and quieter.

It can be done correctly, and it can be done incorrectly, this should help people be a little more aware of what can happen however. I would have to say, seeing what I have seen, the percentage of this result is higher than 2%.

Running WVO is not the same as running homebrewed biodiesel from WVO. If either method is not done correctly, you are asking for problems.
