what does the APPS do? what does it affect? i saw a post about making sure the apps voltage is correct. i have a low voltage code i think its p1693... i think. and sometimes my overhead reads ccd. what could that be?:bang

apps is the trottle position sensor, 1693 i think is injector pump dont hold me to that

Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor.

P1693
DTC Detected In ECM Or PCM

That one seems to come up a lot, I get it all the time.

dont ever bring the vp death code into a thread of mine!!! thats just bad luck. well i guess theres nothing wrong with the apps so how do i trace the 1693 code? and what about the over head console reading CCD?

The way I take it, the 1693 code is a companion code between the ecm and the pcm. Every truck has it. You will have to get one of the really good scanners to pull the code from pcm.

Yep thats correct, if you have a code for a problem it will also throw the 1693, any good shop should be able to read whats really going on.As far as your overhead I don't have a clue, never had a second gen with an overhead.

CCD stands for Computor Controlled Display.

Normally this code gets set in the over head due to a bad ground just inside of the drivers side kick panel . Normally it corrodes or it has been known to be attached right over the paint from the factory.

Look for a large gang ground assembly , it is square with a attachment point and about six ground wires coming out of it.

a buddy of mine did all the electrical in my truck and i just saw that he did a bunch of grounds in a horrible spot. so my question is can i just group all of them together through one wire then run that to a good ground or should i add another 3 feet on each of the 5 wires and ground them to the frame?
