Well before the year began it seemed like the Common Rails were getting hyped up like they would absolutely dominate the 2.5 or 2.6 class this year. After 97 CTD took the 2.5 class at TS. Now what does everyone think? I still think they have a LONG way to go before they dominate at anything. Im am not bashing the common rail by any means so you common rail guys dont take this the wrong way. Just curious what everyone else thinks!

I asked them to move this to sled pulling where it belongs. dont know how the heck i ended up in dyno forum.

IMHO, a VP44 truck set up the right way could win a 2.6 class. I think it is more of a crap shoot than the bigger classes where rpm means alot more. I think it will take many years to see a CR dodge even think of competing in a 3.0/Unlimited single/Super Street/Modified type class.

Hell dont be scared! :rockwoot: hold it to the floor!!!

Im not sure if im coming up or not yet. Dam fuel is crazy! $4.75 here! :bang

Common Rail domination? that'll never happen? :evil

:hehe::hehe:

A 12 valve did win TS, but that common rail was right behind. Like Tom said a VP44 truck could win 2.6, maybe, look at TJ's truck that thing is set up good but I still think Brandon's 12 valve will still take him. The common rails have put put good dyno numbers but nothing to impressive on the drag strip or sled pull. Though Rip Rook's truck just ran a 10.85 fuel only. I think it'll be a while till you see them dominate the sled pulling, but if they do it will be with an auto.

TJ needs more fuel, the monster pumps if they stay together have a lot of promise for the VP guys.

It'll be a little while. and i say that having 650hp with a 2.6 charger. them 12v are tough as hell and rpms to boot

Brandon let us know how it goes this weekend! Ill be cheering the 12 valve on. Kman i think your truck would look good with a 12 valve in it

Remember TS was a no rpm limit pull too. That definitely gave the 12V guys an advantage.

Brandon backed up the 2.5" TS win with a 2nd place finish at Lynchburg last nigh...only it was a 2.6" class;)

A CR Cummins put about 9" on him...top 3 spots were Cummins powered!

Good Job Brandon!
