hey guys,

i'm in the market for a vp truck. would like to stick with a 01 or 02 6 speed. i found this one at a local truck dealer. i went up and drove it...runs good, drives good. all stock. he says 'never had a programmer on it'...well, at least the pump wires arent clipped, so???. haha.

what do u think? anything to look out for on these trucks? any opinions appreciated...thanks

thats about what i paid for my 2001 2wd. with LITERALLY 100,000 miles less on it. 68,500 i think it had.
 
Once again, my truck isn't the same, its an auto, and regular cab. But thats what I paid for it 5 years ago, with 100k less on it, and the market was more of a sellers market than it is now. I don't think you're really getting ripped off at that price, but i think you should definitely be able to get it for less. Out here I see trucks like that going for around 11-12. Private party they are closer to 9 or 10.

Thats way to much money. I paid $12,500 for my 99 Auto 4x4 (same bed and cab combo) 2 years ago @ 165K. Abd that was too much...
 
a little over priced, maybe 11-12ish would be good just depends how clean, and if everything works, sucks to get it home and see all the things u didn't at the dealer
 
ok guys, i appreciate the replys.

i just talked to the guy again, what would u guys say if i could get the truck for 14k out the door? so that would be like 13,100 + sales tax...still too high?

I think it's pretty high still. I don't think I would pay more than 12 out the door... Not in today's market at any rate.

ok, well, i just found one for sale locally that is identical to this truck EXCEPT that it has leather and it has 230k miles vs. the 170k that this one has, and he is asking $13,995...? so...?

It's all in what you are willing to pay really. What is it worth to you? I am a bit of a cheapskate these days when it comes to buying trucks, as funds are pretty tight. It seems to me, that in my area, similar trucks can be found for less; but as we all know, it's somewhat of a regional thing. I was simply giving my opinion on your possible purchase, this said the ultimate choice is yours. If you think it's the truck you want and the price for it is reasonable, then go for it by all means. :Cheer:

I paid 14,400 for my truck exactly 5yrs ago in good condition, with 118K miles, and its really close to the same truck as listed.

I would think you could find a truck like that for 10-11.

alright man, i appreciate ur opinion. and yea, i definitely think its a regional price thing too...haha. ok, well i'l just have to think about it and see what happens. thanks
 
i have a 01 i would sell for 10,000 cash in louisville. call me at 502 930 9205 if you want to look at it. Stock motor with 80,000 and fully built suncoast auto with warrenty for one year.

tell me a little more about it...quad cab? long/short bed? 4x4? manual/auto? thanks
 
qc short bed, 4x4 with new fully built suncoast tranny. Autometer egt, boost and trans temp on pod. full stereo with box under rear seat. i will get some pics this week and send them too you if you surious. motor has about 80000 on it

hey man, i appreciate the offer, but this dude ended up coming down on his price enough, so i bought that 02 6 speed. thanks again though,
