Whats its take to make a 6.0 standalone?

I got lucky and ford put a new motor in my truck and turned the rest all back to stock so I have alot of parts laying around and thinking about throwing it into something to play around with.
I still have a complete 03 motor w/ 90k miles minus a pcm. Then I have a full stg2 fuel system from elite, headstuds, 275's, phat shaft 62/80, the nitrous kit and a few other odds and ends.
Besides the whole tranny situtation what is needed to make the 6.0 a standalone system? I have the wiring harness and ficm do all I need now is a pcm?



Most likely I will still just sell it all and get the cr cummins stuff but just checking to see how hard it would be to do.
 
I know a few people doing it, but no-one has one running. Talk to Tim. I'm sure him and Gene can answer that question best. After all he is putting the one in the ranger.
 
I got alot of parts from my 6l left over. (all electronics) let me know what you need. Im going to be selling it soon
 
You need a PCM, Glow plug controller, (I have an extra), and Pedal assembly. You can buy the pedal assembly on Ebay for 26.00 or go to Ford for 350.00.

Looks like a common rail 5.9 might be going into robs truck by looking at his avatar.
 
Wasn't there a guy on here that had dropped a 6.0 into a Jeep?

I did a search but I couldn't find it.

Thanks for the info. I do have a glow plug controller too.


What are the tranny options? If i found a good deal ona 5r110 and converter would the pcm run it or would I need the pcs controller to handle it. Thats the only thing really keeping me from doing this is the cost of another tranny, converter and controller. I can find a vehicle and do the fab work pretty easily since it wont be a show truck or pure race truck. I just want a fun toy thats different.
