my truck is stock from head to to toe, except a edge ez, it's an 01 dodge 2500 4x4, what should i do next 212,000 miles

Fuel system like a Fass or Airdog. Then guages. Then transmission upgrades. After all that, your ready for power mods.

the pump is in the tank right, not on the block, what kind of trans upgrades. im a rookie in this stuff

What are your goals for HP? If you want a really fun 500HP daily driver, then get prepare to spend $4500-5000 for a billet trans so you can drive your truck with the confidence that the trans isn't gonna break at any given time.

If you just want a little more as in 350HP then do a Billet Torque converter and Performance valve body so you don't slip your clutches.

He is talking about the lift pump that draws fuel from the tank.

However I would upgrade the transmission as soon as possible. And how far to take the transmission upgrades depends on what you want the truck to do and how much hp you intend to make.

A good fun dailly driving setup would be something like:

Performance valve body and Torque converter http://www.goerend.com

High performance lift pump http://www.fassride.com

Good fueling box like an Adrenaline http://www.quadzillapower.com/products/index.cfm/p/Adrenaline-Dodge-98-02
or Comp http://www.edgeproducts.com/categories.php?p_cat=70&cname=Dodge

Guages, preferably Boost, Pyro, Trans temp, and fuel pressure http://www.autometer.com/

And intake and exhaust are up to you. I would at least straight pipe the stock exhaust system, but thats all you really need. Those brands are just my suggestions to get you on the right track.

To reitterate what others have said: I'd say an out-of-tank lift pump, something like a big line kit from Vulcan, air intake upgrade. Gauges are next. Then when you have money again, injectors, then turbo. I dumped around $3500 into mine from stock and got 450hp/972tq. You can do the fuel and air upgrades between $500-$700 depending on how crafty of a shopper you are.

I'd do the vulcan big line relocation kit first and get an out of tank lift pump first. That will prolong the IP even if you leave it stock. Kit is around $135 (when I bought it) and there are many options for the pump. I want a raptor or you could even do a Holly blue from NAPA or somewhere.

Then I'd do an AFE stage 1 intake if you aren't going to 500 hp or you could spend a little more and do a stage 2 like I did. Love it. You'll gain a few hp and have flow to support later mods.

yada yada yada.

If you ever need wiring diagrams, I have a 2001 Dodge truck .pfd on my desktop. I can send you what ever pages you need. :D

Welcome to Comp D!
