I plan on pulling in 2.5 next season and I was wondering how much weight some of you guys hang to make it to 8000lbs? Mines an ex cab long bed.

Your gonna have a lot more variables. I'd start out by weighing the truck

Also, might check on hanging weights anyways... I know around me 2.5 isn't allowed to hang weights

Around here 2.5 is allowed to hang weights so you definitely want to check on that.

My old 97 Eclb 4x4 5spd was just shy of 7k lbs with 33" tires

2000 eclb full of fuel 4x4 5 spd weighted 7830 on cat scales. I could of probubly lost 100-125 lbs becaues of my luaguge and ammo i had bought but that will be prety close.

My 95 rclb was 6200 full fuel with me in it. Now with the dana 80, 271, and new wheels and tires it's around 6500. We weigh it up 8k when pulling if we can find enough weight. Put as much in the cab as we can and the rest in the front if the box since we can't hang weight. Best option would be get a ranch hand or something similar

Yowza! My '98 RCLB 4by is 7200 lbs. It is an ST with just Cruise/tilt/AC for options. Surprised to see 1000 lbs. less.

That sounds way high. My 98 ECSB 4x4 with full toolbox and half tank of fuel was 6800.

When I bring scrap to the local yard I consistently weigh 6400-6500 lbs. on their scale. That's usually with about half a tank of fuel, tool box, and me in it. I have an ECLB too btw. I don't know if their scale is accurate, but it's always been consistent.

Does ranch hands add that much weight?? Tool box fuel tank and ranch hands small system. Few tools and jumper cables. I know my truck is a 24v sec gen but my eclb truck wieghts in at 9200 lbs full of full and my tank full of fuel. Tank in the bed holds 100 gallon.

Diesel weights around 7.1 lbs per gallon. So you have a lot of weight there in fuel

6600, std cab 4x4 97 with 80lb 35" ss-m16 tires and compound turbo (s300/s400) with my 235lb self inside.

1999 ECSB 4x4 with me in it, full tank, and 33x12.50r16's it was 6930 on the sled pull scale.
