i took the starter off thinking it was their and it wasnt.

thanks in advance.

not positive but i do believe reading that it's somewhere behind or around the vacumn pump.

My 01' has the sensor were the "Engine" TDC pin would be on a 12V.......between the Vac and Injection pump, but the crank has the tone ring on it too at the back.

i thought i needed to replace my crankshaft position sensor.

my truck is missing at high rpms, like the power goes off for a second then comes back.

also i just dont think its running as good as it should when doing WOT runs.

i got these codes.

p1682
p0500
p1694
p0602

truck runs good, just a lil funny on the top end. kinda hard to explain. almost like a miss. only mods are m4's and smarty.

no check engine light or anything.

any info is appreciated.

P0500 (M) No Vehicle Speed Sensor Signal No vehicle speed sensor signal detected during road load
conditions.
P0602 (M) ECM Fueling Calibration Error ECM Internal fault condition detected.
P1682 (G) Charging System Voltage Too Low Battery voltage sense input below target charging voltage
during engine operation and no significant change in
voltage detected during active test of generator output
circuit.
P1694 (M) No CCD Messages received from
ECM
Bus communication failure to PCM.
It sounds to me like you have a wiring issue, or a ground issue. I would check all wires and connectors as well as grounds to make sure everything is OK before I started replacing parts.
Good luck.

good call! especially the main grounds under the hood...

whenever a 24v comes into HotRodDiesel with funky symptoms, the FIRST thing Mike does is re-do all the grounds, and often times it fixes everything

what do you mean redo them? clean them or replace them?

thanks

ok. i actually had a wiring issue where some wires were rubbing on my dipstick, cause them to ground out. i ended up replacing the rear wheel speed sensor before finding the wires.

i guess ill go check em out.

thanks for suggestions.

ok i cleaned all the grounds, i counted 6. does that sound right or is there more?

i will go drive it shortly and report back.

thanks again

I can't find my notes on this right now, but I somehow thought there were about ten of them total in the engine compartment area, but I could be wrong.

What is your fuel system? the Stock lift pump? I had these kind of problems with bigger injectors and a smarty. you may be starving the vp at those rpm's. How long have you had those mods before these problems occured?

i have a holley blue with 1/2" lines all the way to the vp.

i just got the injectors and turbo.

its more like a surge, when i get into it hard sometimes its like the charger dosent lite, the engine just revvs. but if i roll into it sometimes dosent do it.
this is in 3rd with tc locked and od.

i m wondering if im slipping my tranny.

i try to wait till after 2k rpms before getting into it. i will be ordering the rest of my tranny pieces this week. and hopefully tackling it soon.

my injectors are only 150hp, that isnt big.

should i pull my smarty off and run it?

Try it without the smarty. When I went to my big injectors I had to get rid of the smarty. I killed my low end, yours is top end though. so I'm not so sure that the smarty will effect that due to the smarty not really doin much on the top, but its an easy way to find out. I've had many surges and weird sounds from my exhaust to at high rpm's. Once again problem fixed loosing the smarty.
