the bung i have welded in my header is kinda long and when i place my thermocouple in it I get an false reading...its not reading the temp of the gasses flowing through that runner but rather just an ambient temp up in the bung. at idle last night it was reading 190* and thats what the temp of the outside of the header was reading also on a laser thermometer. i need a longer probe to reach down into the tube and be in the exhaust stream

Just put some duct tape over the pyro. It will be pegged by the 25 foot mark anyways! If its not, then you need more fuel! LOL

shorten the bung - if its about 1 1/2" like in the pix its easy to cut off and rethread if necessary

You just need a K type thermocouple. Find one that suits your needs if you can't make the one you have work.

I have K type for the data logger , if you need then the probes are 6 inches long and have a compression fitting bung
