ok i have a 00 quadcab shortbed ctd. even though it is a 2000 it was special order and does have a six speed in it. i have a cold air, exhausts, ddp 150 horse injectors, and edge comp on it. now my ? is which clutch should i get. i wanna pull for fun occasionally but i also want to be able to drive it on the street alot. any advice would be great thanks!

Pulling should get you a Double Disk. A conOFE is a great clutch, you just won't be able to spin her up to 3000 and walk it out of the hole.

I have seen guys rev it to 3000 and just side step it though.

If you are going to pull go DD. Pulling for fun usually turns into... "Man this is awsome! When is the next pull?"

I would think you would be asking what turbo next.

I second a Dual Disc clutch for sure. I would look into Haisley's clutches or South Bend's and see which one fits your needs.

The SBC 3600 12cb would be a good clutch for now, depends on how much more power comes in the future though...

how streetable is that gus when pulling a trailer, will it hold a streetable, light pulling and towin 500 hp?

I have the south bend 4200 and drive it all over,

get a clutch that will give you room to grow :st:

Call Terry at Powerpartsengineerring.com he build an awesome clutch. I've got his 4200# dd. It is tough plus he is pretty cheap

I'm having the same dilema myself. I think I'm gonna go with a SB DD, but can't decide between the 3600CB, 3850CB, or 3850FB. I'm eventually planning on 500-550hp, but maybe 600 in the way distant future. This is my daily driver, so I only plan on trying sled pulling a few times. I'm leaning towards the 3600 since its my daily driver, figure that will be a little easier on my left leg;)

There were somebody that made a DD for the small input. 2000 6 speed should be a 1.25 inch input(small)

Pretty sure Valair makes one. I think Dan told me he was about to release it when I ordered mine.

Southbend makes one for the small input shaft, I bought mine last year 3600. I would go with the 3600 just my 2cent

call terry he builds one heck of a clutch is it any better than south bend? there about the same but terrys is cheaper and his warrenty is as good as it gets. since you have a 2000 you will need the input shaft like a 5 speed.

Is there any adjustment needed to compensate for clutch wear on the Southbends? I was told that with the Haisley's DD, you have to pull the pressure plate approx. once a year and remove shims to compensate for the clutch wear. That might have been on their pulling clutch though. I'm trying to avoid having to do that if at all possible.

southbends have 3 levers that go against the throw out bearring. set it up at install and ajust when it starts acting funny
