I'm in the market to buy a 24V and want to check the fuel pressure before I buy, where can I pick up a cheap fuel pressure tester to hook up and test it while I look and test drive the truck?

Also can some one show me with a picture where to hook the fuel pressure tester up to? I've seen it once but I forget, I want to be for sure so it doesn't take me long and make it look like I'm messing up some guys truck.

Any EFI fuel pressure test gauge that will screw on to a schrader valve test port will work. You should be able to find a gauge at just about any parts store, Sears, Harbor Freight, etc.

There is a test port on the fuel filter housing to screw it on to.

The valve is on the pump.

Yep the Harbor Freight one works well. You will want to get an extension hose made if you to use it while driving. (For testing, like holding the gauge in the cab, not for permanent mounting.)

Maybe my memory is fuzzy, but I could swear it was on the filter housing on the two trucks I've worked on. Would they have changed over the years?

Maybe on the earlier ones its in a different place? Its on the pump in my 02.

The 98.5 and 99's didn't have test ports like the 2k - 02 IIRC. They are supposed to be on the inlet banjo on the pump.

What year truck do you have?

Here's where it is on the pump:

I don't have a truck yet, just looking and test driving. So it's # 3 on the pictures right?
