I'm trying to decide on which pump I would like to buy but just can't make up my mind. I think I made up my mind finally on what I want to do with the truck so here it is. Its a 2001 with automatic and it is my dd and also do some towing. For towing all I do is tow my other diesel around. I want to build this in the 500-600hp range but of course closer to 600 but want to have it not put out the clouds of smoke. I'm thinking a S.O. pump probably would do the job but also been thinking about a hot rod pump. I dont want to tap the pump at all but was thinking if I bought the hot rod pump I would not have to buy a chip for the truck to turn up the fueling. I do have a smarty already for the truck. I know there is more I need to finish this project but right now my pump is going bad and I need a new one. So what do I do?

You won't get 600hp without a pump tap.

I guess it looks like I'll go with the S.O. Hopefully I will get what I want out of it.
