Which Studs to use?

Just wondering what u guys recomend for studs. I can get a set of 12mm arps for 450 bucks but they also have a set for 1100 dollars. Are the more expensive ones that much better?

The 12mm studs are a direct replacement, the 14mm will require drilling/tapping the block. The 12mm are more than enough for most guys, thats what I have.

I'm guessing the $1100 dollar ones you mentioned are the New Age 625+ studs. Are they that much better. Yes. Are you going to need them on an 01. Probably not. I have the ARP 2000's on my 02 with an o-ringed head, and they have worked fine. It last dynoed at 638hp. I haven't even done a re-torque in about 100K miles.

I have the 625+'s on my 05, and there is a definate stronger feel to them, when you torque them. I don't regret having spent the money on them.

Check with Greg (COMP461) here, before you buy them someplace else.
