Looking at upgrading the stock hy-35 at tax return time. I dont know what I should run. BD Super B Special? 62/71? 62/65? The only thing I ever tow is my boat and thats only 3k max loaded. Would the special be too laggy around town? This is my daily driver. Truck specs in sig.

If the convertor is tight (low stall) or you have tall tires the 62/65 but if you have a "loose" convertor or plan to run it hard often the 62/71. If you plan to go bigger on injectors the 64/71 goes better with 200's.

Im gonna show off my rookie name now and ask how do I know if the converter is tight or loose?

I would ask the folks that built your transmission what they recommend..

If your sig is correct, you have a good group there that should be able to steer you in the right direction.

I personally think a 62/65/12 would be a good turbo upgrade, and then you could use it in a 2/3rds twin kit in the future.

just ordered a 62/68/12 with race cover for mine let you know how i like it when it comes in

i have a SPS 62/71 from industrial. With a 5 spd trans on a 12v though. It spools fast and the egts never go over 1200 towing..I like it a lot. Remember you gotta get a 4 in downpipe too.
