which year vp motors have same sensors

I have a 2000 cummins and an trying to locate a spare motor to build. Which year motors are the exact same as mine as far as sensors and locations for sensors so I can do an exact swap. Found a 99 but wasnt sure. Any help would be great.
 
]I think 98.5 -2000 are the same. 01 and 02 are on there own I believe because of the different map sensors. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

I know for sure that 01's are different then 00. 01 just has a cam sensor where 00 has cam and crank
 
As far as 47re's go in VP's, 98.5-2000 are the same and then 2001-2002 are the same.
I would think that the rest of the truck/engine should follow the same pattern.
 
Some 2001s will have both Cam and Crank sensors. Early 2003's trucks will also have 47re transmissions as well.

On other trucks with a crank sensor if it is not equipped with it, the block will still have a provision for it but have a plastic plug there to block the hole.

Early 03's as in 3rd gen's? I didnt know any of them got the 47re.
 
99' engine will work. Your truck only needs crank signal, so don't worry about cam sensor.
 
Actually the 47RE 2003s were 250hp. There was a mix of drivetrains between 2003-04 and it's hard to keep them straight.

2003 to early 2004:
235hp Cali autos & manuals
250hp 47RE & NV4500
305hp NV5600, and 48RE when it came out late '03.

2004.5 the 325hp Cummins "600" came out available both with 48RE and NV5600. The 5-speed was dropped at that point (or maybe it wasn't offered at all for 2004, don't recall).
 
V-10s in 2003 also got the 47RE.
I pulled one while I was in OKC last week.

I have found 00 motors to be both ways . So look behind the starter for a crank sensor if so early style if not late style. Timing cases and camshaft gears will not interchange
