White Smoke????????

is it normal for a 7.3 to white smoke when you crank it during cold weather?:huh:: it just does it for like a few seconds...

Yeah, Mine does it all the time. Especially since I add motor oil to the diesel fuel.

almost every diesel will but if its cranking over for alittle longer than it should might want to check glow plugs and relay. If they go out you will just be dumping out white smoke while cranking.

kmkdiesel, it always cranks as soon as i hit the key... on really cold mornings if i forget to plug it up it takes it a lot longer to crank... i try to remember to plug it in but sometimes forget
