I'm considering rigging something up...

Man it was cold this morning... 59 degrees :bang

I know a guy that plumbed a John Deere ether assist system on his 12v.

It was 60* this morning...took a bit of cranking....

But we were talking about this a while back. Hit up a John Deere store, they got a nice automatic system thats controled in the cab.

Oh and they also sell some VERY powerful ether!

I hope you unplug the grid heaters. :hehe: If you don't, please video the trial runs. :D

No grids, only one battery, and 5 more degrees of timing made it even more stubborn...

There's nothing like the smell of incomplete combustion in the morning...

With my old VP setup and standard compression, I could start it below freezing with no grids. It didn't like it but would still start.

With lowered compression and high timing on the ppump setup, (and one battery to top it off), there is no chance in hell it would start at that temp now. Heck I was worried this morning...

Glad I ordered some of those super starter contacts as I will be using it alot more now:hehe:

at 75* here, my 12v pulling engine doesnt like to start withoutn a little help. low compression and high timing doesnt help i guess:doh:

I used to have that problem. Lower compression and high timing, barely started without ether.
I spent the $1100 and bought and installed the ESPAR. Best money I have spent.
Not only does it start the engine like it 95* out but you get instant heat.
My unit has the 7 day timer to program it for anytime of the day. You can also wire it into your alarm keyfob to start it whenever.
It will warm the coolant and engine in less than a half hour when its 32* or above.
Takes about an hour when its colder than 32*.

Ive got a freebee off of a Massey I think. Not used it yet, came from a non-turbo tractor so Ill put it pre turbo.
