Who's gears and Locker?

Hey Guys,

I have an 04 Ford F-250. I’m looking at switching out my gears and locker. I'm thinking about going to ARB for the locker but what do you guys think?

What works and what doesn't?
 
How bad do you want a Selectable locker?

I have personally never had a problem with ARBs.. but, I have never used one in an app like this... I stick with them for lighter trail toys that see mostly street duty...

For strength, personally, I like the Detroit full carrier locker... nearly indestructable...

Gears, Richmond makes good stuff..

If you want to upgrade to ARB...i dont see you being disappointed at all.

As far as gears...im a fan of Yukon and Precision, for your axles. What ratio...that depends on your setup and driving style.

I currently have 456 yukons and detroit tru-tracs Love em and wouldnt trade`em for anything!!!!! work great and do really well in my tug-a-trucks dunno about sled pulls as I havent hooked it yet but that time will be here this spring/summer!

How do I know if I have a 10.25 or a 10.5 rear axle. I'm looking at gears and I don't know which ones I need. Any help is appreciated.

The truck is a 2004 F-250 crew cab short bed. Late build date if that matters
 
it goes by production date, as long as your replacing the set (ring and pinion) not sure why or who would do one you can get the 10.5, iirc. i had a detroit in my 99 f250 with gears from 4 wheel wholesale parts. lifetime warranty on the gears no matter what. an 04 should be 10.5 i think the split is around 99 or 2000
