4k fuel wfo...

A friend of mine runs the blue box. He's pretty happy with it except for an issue with the screen display flashes out on him once in awhile. I installed a Juice Attitude in another friends truck a few weeks back and between the two I like the JwA better as it gives you a few more options as well as fuel pressure. Performance (seat of the pants) feels the same.

I run mine with a smarty and love it. I have had the Edge Comp and smarty, but I have more options with the fms.You will like it.

That is the cool part about the FMS.... The SOP is the same as a JWA, but the FMS does not add any timing. I have run the FMS with just about every timing bx out there and cam tell you from experience that it plays pretty well with others. I am currently running it with a TS MVP, and I really love the adjustability with this stack. It is every bit as strong as the FMS/VAv5 or other popular FMS stacks.

Even with the quirky screen stuff that happes on rare occasions, I would not run any other fuel box. I have driven or ridden in trucks with every box/stack/combo on the planet, and while I have seen a few that hit as hard as mine does on full boogie, they cannot do it with the drivability I have. I dont get any popping/sputtering/farting/surging/whatever. I know thw FMS is a bit more exspensive han th JWA or the ADR, ut if you want the best ot there, there is no comparison IMO.

Tim hit the nail right on the head.

The only thing I would add is that there seems to be some confusion about the different FMS boxes offered.

There are VERY old school blue boxes that don't have a screen at all.

Then, there are the FMS boxes that we traditionally see with a blue face. This is what Tim and I run. I can't really add anything to what he said above.. They are THAT good, even all these years later.

Finally, there is the Redbox. These are the 4k fueling boxes. They are not really street friendly, and I have heard from a few people that you lose certain gauges. There are sevearl peple that run them on daily drivers, so it can be done. Just depends on what you want to live with.

My FMS box lives on 2 settings, Off and Kill. If you only use it once in a while, the redbox might be fine. Otherwise, I'd pick up a blue box (FMS) the next time you see one for sale.

The Adrenaline is way smoother & way more powerful than the Redline box...atleast on my truck. Maybe the FMS is different, but the redline is not street friendly at all on my rig. It pops, sputters, surges at any throttle level below pegged. Only time it is smooth is when on 70% or lower, which the Smarty feels stronger than the redline at that level.

Yeah Tim's truck is a runner, I had lot's of fun driving his truck at TS, The smoothest powerI have seen from a Vp truck

The FMS must be alot different than a redline, I can't stand the redline on the street.

so the best setup would be the comp and the fms..or the smarty and the fms...i dont want the redline..i jusrt want the fms box. the blue one..i think the new new ones are silver faced aint they??

also does this thing reqiuire a bunch of hookups? ive got gaugaes so i dont need and kind of juice w/attitude stuff...just the major fueling.

im adding a hotrod pump also from iis. i already have that but its not on yet...the comp just dont seem to fuel out far enuff

anyways..whos got one for sale

I like my FMS Smarty Stack.

I see no point in shelling out the cash for a comp just for the timing. The smarty can give you pleanty of timing, plus you can pull codes, change tire height, and adjust the settings to your preferences.

Doesn't require many hookups at all. 1 to the map sensor to get your boost reading and boost fooling, 1 to your pyro, and a ground/power hookup. Those are the only connections I remember. I actually like comparing my EGTs on the autometer gauge to the FMS box.. Beleive it or not, I don't even look at my autometer gauges any more unless I make a concious effort.. I just look at the FMS readout.

I didn't think they where still building the FMS... Did Chip start making them again?

It also has to hook up to the pump wire. I run the blue chip and a power puck with 155 injectors. It is a great setup and can still pull my GN trailer loaded with anything.

Gary, I would put the pump on before you change your elctronics. The Comp & Smarty you already have work very good with the HRVP. I just dont want to see you waste money untill you see what youve got first.
