Ok guys, my current build should put me right around the 1k mark on fuel and I also have nitrous on tap but will not be playing with it until i can further build the bottom end.

I had it in my head that I would freshen the tranny each winter, but now I've heard otherwise.

My truck is a 05 and I was planning on racing the Super Street class this year at TS and Scheids and all of the NHRDA events that I could afford to make in my region.

Other than breakage, who is getting a racing season out of a transmission? And who's parts are you using?

Thanks for any help and suggestions!

Thats what I was leaning towards. Ive heard nothing but great things about Phil's converters! And the west coast boys holding 1100hp on goerend parts is a good sign also!

I am enjoying my "Garmon/DPC" unit. Can't wait, to see how this thread turn's out. :D

is this 05 a 4x4?

Yes sorry for not posting much details. 4x4. Pretty much track only truck.

Jeff is building fat shaft trannys now. The four disc converter I am building him for it has approximately 180 sq in of clutch surface area. That is as extreme as you can get.

^^^ wow....

now IAM kicking myself in the head for buying a BD TC...

I would call Tim Barber of TRE Diesel... his 06 has dyno'd 1058HP on fuel and His transmission has proven itself behind his own truck.

X2 Tim is a great guy, and knows his transmissions...I'll go no where else for mine.

Not saying anything bad about anyone else, but Tim has done me right, built me a great tranny, and treated me better than he should have ;)

Several race seasons, & a bunch of tow miles on my Garmon tranny. Fluid & filter still looked new at the last service. (no joke!)

Goerend's here; three years old and still perfectly tight in spite of the abuse.

15 blade left cut triple.
Yeah it is tight at my power level, but I still daily drive 130 miles a day and tow heavy occasionally.

8100lbs on 37's here, many 1/4 passes over 3yrs without issue...... Garmon and DPC are the way to go

I will be giving Jeff a call as soon as I can afford it. Spending 5500 on another brand that lasted 5 months kinda hurts the pocket book!

Over 800 hp stock size billet inputs dont last at all, make sure you use a fat shaft!
