Why is there so much hate for Banks products? I have no opinion of them either way but it seems like alot of people don't care for their stuff.

Because the amount of money you pay for their stuff, you can piece your own "kit" together for alot less

They make other companies look bad to make themselves look better, The holy-er than thou art type...

And every other guy that comes over here from CF sports Banks stickers on thier truck and thinks its the best thing since sliced bread.

Banks, It's the OBAMA of the Diesel World!!!
Promise's Every Damn thing under the sun But Doesn't Deliver Chit!!!
And You have a Significantly thinner Wallet to Boot!!

Hating banks is alot like breathing, you don't even think about it. You just do it. LOL

Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Sometimes you pay for a name.

The advertising campaign banks uses really leaves a bad taste in most folk's mouths. They like to claim the competition isn't capable of doing anything that Banks does, or producing products at the same level of Banks. While I'm sure that some of their products are nice, I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone that would say they are worth the addition cost over other companies.

I do think Banks has a place on the market. They are great for the older couple looking to get a little extra HP and towing power out of their truck. It is an all inclusive system, and you just buy, bolt, and go. (Or in this case, probably buy, pay to install, and go).

In the end, it's all opinion.

This is the kind of answer I was looking for, thanks.

Next question......How do I wire a smoke switch?

Actually I could care less about making smoke or adding 25,000 lights to my truck. Thanks for the sarcastic reply though

Did I miss something between this place and Cummins Forum?

Ummmm. Walmart is cheap........

I will probably be running the IQ in my 12 valve (once it's released for that application).. I'm getting rid of the pillar gauges and putting the IQ where the stereo receiver is. There are others that do it, but they all look like crap. The way they packaged them is just terrible. IQ is a simple, clean, thin rectangle.

Yup, hell just froze LOL

you are buying a name insted of a product that can deliver. the only banks product that I have is there brake it is becoming a pain in my ass to sell.

What it boils down to is Banks has a lot of R&D capability that costs a pile of money and their bashing other brands way of advertising I don' like but after being trash talked by everyone for so long I can see why they get fed up and start putting up comparison charts on their ads. Let's face it guys, we all like to build raw horsepower & torque the easiest n cheapest way possible,-most of the time involving major heat, pressure,& smoke that takes its toll on an engine especially if you keep your foot in it for any amount of time. Do I think a lot of their stuff is overpriced for what it is?-yes. Most of what is on my truck does not come from Banks. But if Gale Banks builds a 1500 hp diesel and you name the other shop builds one and I have to bet money on which one's running more efficiently and will outlive the other one I'd have to put my money on Banks.

True. Now call and order up a package from them so you can run 1500hp. What they sell to the public and what they run are too different things. They'll use their 1500 hp truck for advertisement for their Six Gun.
