So after spectating a lot of pulls i have noticed not everyone launches the same. I have always been told to bring rpms up while slipping the clutch and once you're at where you want to be, let her eat. Yet at a lot of pulls i've been too recently, i see guys sitting there revving it up, not holding the throttle down with any consistancy and slipping the clutch at the same time as they are revving it up. So which way is the "correct" way to launch? Bring rpms up steadily, or sit there revving it up?

I say bring them up, to where you want to launch, then slip it out trying to maintain rpm. Don't ride it basically let it out enough to load the driveline and turbo, then let her eat.

that's what ive always been told too, but i've seen alot of guys recently sitting there basically revving it up then i dont know if they're riding the clutch or dumping it but it was just different than what i had been told.

Mostly depends on the track and different truck setups. Me personally I usually bring the rpms up, slip the clutch for a couple seconds to load everything then drop the hammer. Although at really loose tracks or very heavy dead weight sleds I slip the clutch for about 15ft or so to get everything moving good. But not all trucks are the same. I have seen it done many ways and each one has been successful

k thanks for clearing that up for me guys, and bragg as soon as i get another job i'll be coming to see you for traction bars and stops. Getting laid off sucks!! but i haven't forgot about you

Just let me know a couple weeks before your ready to bring it down so I can get a head start on the fab work.
