winter front

I'm going the cheap route (cardboard) putting a winter front on a couple semis. Should I cover the radiator directly, or stay off it and put my cover on the grill? Does it really matter?

dont put the card board up againts the radiator or any of the cooler that will block almost all air flow keep it on the grill. i used plexie glass and zip tied it behinde the grill. i think i have 5 bucks for the bottom and 5 bucks for the top holes plus 16 zip ties
