I am looking for the ECM that is located down by the engine off of a second gen truck with the 24 valve engine. The truck is a standard... Im on sure if an auto ECU will work so anyone who knows plese chime in...

ECM ?

If so look for two guys on ebay , REDLINEAR and partsitout. These two always have ECM's.
 
The low speed gov will be different. Also the fueling and timing tables are a little different between the automatics and manuals.
 
I have a 1998 ECM that I had flashed for an 02 as a back up that I don't need anymore. It could be reflashed for a 99.
