So I'm new to driving a Cummins, I drove a Powerstroke before this. I bought this truck almost 2 weeks ago. It has had several issues that have been fairly easy to fix. But I'm hoping my VP44 isn't going out. I get the 0216 from the ECU, so this is not a good sign. Like others I only see problems when i first start the truck. Once the Temp is over 140 I dont have any problems. I see a lot of people talking about a dead pedal, I'm wondering if my problem is the same, or does a true dead pedal not raise the rpms at all? The pedal is responsive some. The motor will get up to 1500-1700 rpm. And if i fully depress the pedal the transmission will down shift and the RPMs will raise to around 2000. Most of the time I can pump the pedal a few times and it goes away. Also i can shut the motor off and restart and it goes away.
Thanks for the help... even if it is saying get a new VP
