zoom clutches

Not be a smart ass or anything but there's a reason that people stay away from no name clutches and stick to southbend, valair, haisley's, etc. Centerforce and zoom clutches might work on a gasser but the torque that a diesel makes, especially modified diesels, will tear one of those clutches to pieces in a heartbeat.

I agree 100%

Yep. Get a clutch from one of the companies involved in the diesel industry. Beyond running ads in Diesel Power.

I actually heard the Zoom clutches were alright, but i dont know.

Definately wouldnt use one in a heavy duty application like pulling or racing, but for daily driving with moderate upgrades it might be worth the $$.

Im not so sure im real impressed with south bend as of lately.

I've had a few customers use zoom clutches with good success on pulling applications.

All things considered though, for my personal truck, zoom wouldn't be my first choice for my truck.

We have had good luck with Zoom clutches in gas pulling trucks. I am not sure what they have available for diesels but it may be worth a shot. I personally would use Valair or Southbend.

For a while. They get pissy when you destroy their clutch every other pull.

Well maybe you should stop breaking them then.

For the non-clutch abusers, Peter has ALWAYS stood behind his product, no questions asked at least in my case.

When they say "This clutch will hold xxx HP/TQ sledpulling", I expect it to hold, at least for a while, thats all. Destroy several of them in a season and something is wrong.

FWIW, I still wouldn't buy anything else besides South Bend.

Ya, I have a friend that had a single disc south bend for about 2 years and the disc burt up. He found a zoom bought it and ran it about 2 months both with just a tst and bd power pup.We installed an arura 3000 and now the zoom is slipping I told him the clutch could not hold the power but he insits it should zoom claims it will hold 1485lbs of torque theres no way hes making that kind of power he towes regular. I told him he needs a duel disc. South bend or vailar.

2 of my friends ran SBC's one in a 93 and one in an 03.... both of them wrecked there clutchs in a matter of months.... both went back to stock clutchs and they lasted longer....

i have no idea why or what....

the 03 was makin some decent power... and doesn't slip the stocker yet **** out an SBC ?

samething with the 93...

my other friend is using a centerforce in his 97 with a 6spd and it's doing the best out of all of them

SBc prolly has 5000 pulling clutches out there working fine, and the 3 that fail scream the loudest on the net, lol!!

99.9% of the time, clutch failure is driver error.

Zoom is for a stock replacement.

why are we not considerin valair inc clutch here?

they make a solid product and stand behind it 100 percent

far as zoom and center junk go, run away

Southbend 100% On the business end I've never delt with a better company. Good products, Good People and 100% customer satisfaction every time! I'll never go anywere else for me or my customer!

I don't even own a stick and after seeing the abuse that my friends dish out to their single and dual and triple disk southbends and how well they actually work I wouldn't even consider another brand but southbend.
