92' cummins in a 93' one ton chevy

If you have any ideas, info, or anything really, that would help with the build, It is a 93' chevy with a 6.5 in it, I found a 92' cummins to put in it, and the real question is, can I use the 4l80e tranny that is in my truck now? Anything at all to do with the conversion will help, Thanks.

try looking in the diesel conversions area. it will be more helpful. and yes you can if you keep the ecm and everything to control it. it will take a special adapter plate and flex plate to adapt it but yes there is people out there running those with thier conversions.

so as long as I have the ecm still in my truck the tranny will work still? I didnt know because I thought that the throttle position senser is the one that controlled the shifting?

also if I put a nv4500 transmission behind it, would I have to change the transfer case? and is the nv4500 a five speed auto? do they make those?

The nv4500 is a five speed but it's a manual.

the if you get ahold of a trans shop like i did i had them pull a built one off the shelf meant for my 4x4 and removed the input shaft and put a dodge one in so that i have a dodge input shaft and bell housing and the rest is gm from the case back.

you might have to modify the program on the ecm i just went to a manual to eliminate the auto they cost too much to build anyways.
